PRAYERS FOR PEOPLE:

Joel and Gail Mars:  Joel’s sister, Sharlene Olsen passed away last Wednesday evening.  Please remember in prayer Joel and Gail, Tim and Stacey Bates and their families as they mourn the loss of their loved one.

Marian Mars:  Joel Mars’ mother celebrated her 100th birthday on Thursday.  We praise God for Marian’s life and the blessings she shares with her family every day!

Ivan Hoopfer:    Ivan was released from the hospital on Friday.  He will be staying with Jack and Nancy a night or two and then back to Hope Village.  Please keep Ivan in your prayers as he heals at home.

Ken and Sue Lein:   Ken and Sue will be celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary on March 6th!  We praise God for their marriage and the love their share with each other and all of us!

GOOD NEWS!  A bit of good news…we have been praying for my son-in-law, Charlie Lewis.  He was in a serious car accident in September and on life support for five weeks.  Although he is still dealing with effects of the accident he is much better.  So much so that he went back to half days at work this week!  Thank you, Feast, for your prayers and thanks be to God.  Shirley Zerafa

BLUE JEAN SUNDAY:  Our Property Management Core Team has scheduled two Blue Jean Sundays for this year, one to spruce up the interior of the building, and the second to Spring clean our grounds.  Those dates are:  INSIDE:  March 21; and OUTSIDE:  May 23.

MARCH KNIT TOGETHER:  Knitters and crocheters will meet at church on Thursday, March 11 at 11:30 to work on prayer shawls and lap robes or other projects. Maybe you have never before done any knitting or crocheting, or perhaps it’s been awhile, or maybe you just want to come and check out what’s going on….great! No experience is necessary, and we are happy to help you get started. Please bring a brown bag lunch, grab your needles or a crochet hook and some yarn and we’ll welcome you for fun and fellowship while we work on projects THURSDAY, March 11@11:30 at the church. Questions?? Feel free to call RuthAnn at 357-4491.  Also, if you know of someone who may need a prayer shawl, please be sure to let the office know. THANKS!

THANK YOU!  Dear Feast family,

Words seem so inadequate to describe the thankfulness and appreciation I have for all of you.  Your prayers, calls, visits, smiles, and hugs before, during, and after my recent surgery lifted my heart in so many ways.  The day of my surgery I was so calm. I kept telling people who thought I should be nervous that I felt like I was in a “Bubble of Prayer”.  It kept me safe and connected to all of you through our Savior. It is very difficult to explain how peaceful I was about this surgery.  Sometimes it is a mystery to me why I had no anxiety at all about my surgery, other times it is no mystery at all.  I am truly blessed to be in a Christian family where prayer for each other can lift us up just at the moment we need it.  Thanks again for being who you are in Christ.  In and through His love, Nancy Hoopfer

HEALTH KITS FOR HAITI:  LWR has sent out a request for health kits for the people of Haiti that have lost all or most of their possessions and/or their homes.  We will be collecting items for the next few weeks.   Monetary donations will be accepted as well to offset shipping costs and the cost of toothpaste.  If you choose to donate items please put them under the table in the narthex.  Listed below is what is needed for each kit:

One hand towel, dark color recommended

One washcloth, dark color recommended

One bath-size bar (4 to 5 oz.) of soap

On adult-size toothbrush

One sturdy comb

One metal nail file or nail clippers with file attached

Six Band-Aids, preferably ½” to ¾”; secure together with a rubber band

ALTAR GUILD:  Altar Guild has a new member, RuthAnn Leppala.  She will co-chair with Nancy Washburn.  The other members are Carolene Herman, Marilyn Vogtsberger, Shirley Zerafa (flower arrangements), and Nancy Albrecht (substitute).  Welcome RuthAnn!

THANK YOU, POLLY!  Thank you Polly (and Jim) Dux for your many years of faithful service of leading the Altar Guild!   Our Sanctuary always looks beautiful and welcoming when we come to worship.  God bless the ministry you have provided us and God bless you!

TAKING FAITH HOME:  The Taking Faith Home pages will be on the table in the Narthex instead of being handed out by the ushers.  Please take one for your family.  This is a great way to stay in the Word all week long!

MID-WEEK LENT:  Our Wednesday evening schedule is:  Soup, Salad, and Bread supper at 6 p.m.  Worship will begin at 7 p.m.

WOMEN’S SPIRITUALITY STUDY GROUP:  The Women's Spirituality Group continues with a discussion series on the book  "Have a Little Faith" by Mitch Albom, the author of "Tuesdays With Morrie".  Please come and join we meet on Tuesday evenings at 6:30.

LIVING WATER MINSTRIES:  Please look at the flyers on the bulletin board next to the mailboxes for some exciting new camps that will be happening this spring!

ITEMS FOR ACTS:  February items for ACTS are peanut butter and jelly! You may place donations under the table in the Narthex and we will get them to ACTS.  Your generosity to our community is a demonstration of Jesus Christ’s love living in your heart!  Thank you for supporting this much needed ministry!

COFFEE:  Here is a list of the varieties of coffee we have here at the church:  Breakfast Blend (whole bean), French Roast (whole bean), Columbian (ground), Columbian Decaf (ground), Mind Body and Soul (whole bean), Café Salvador (ground), and Organic Sisters’ Blend (ground).  If you need coffee and we do not have the variety you like, you can order a case directly from LWR, by calling 774-776-7340. You can get mixed cases too, if you like flavored coffee or prefer decaf sometimes.  It is all good!  There are order forms on the "coffee" table in the narthex.  Check out all the different varieties available before you call.  Check with Karen for availability of the usual varieties.  If you go to www.lwrcoffee.com on line you can also order chocolate, tea and other good stuff!  A small amount of each purchase goes to LWR "Small Farmer Fund" for projects supporting small farmers and their families.

ATTENTION ALL YOUTH!  Are you in sports, school choir, and/or theater?  We want to know when and where you will be performing so your family at Feast can come too.  With your parents’ help, write down your name, your activity name, location and times of your activities and give them to Deb Gamelin or Karen Klug.  We will compile the information and display on a calendar at Church so Feast members can decide when they can see you participate in your activity.  We want to cheer you on in love!

USED PRINTER CARTRIDGES:  Would you like to recycle your inkjet or laser printer cartridges but do not know where to take them?  Staples will take your cartridges and give Feast of Victory $3.00 for each cartridge turned in.  You may bring your used cartridges to the church and place them on the desk in the office or take them directly to Staples, just give them the church’s phone number, 938-1070, and our account will be credited.  Thanks for being good stewards of our environment and our resources.

CLEANLINESS NEXT TO GODLINESS:    In order to be more conscious about spreading germs during Holy Communion, all those who serve the Sacrament will use hand sanitizer immediately prior to serving. Thanks!

MONEY COUNTERS NEEDED:  We are in need of more offering money counters.  If you are interested in this important ministry please see Jean Friday for more information.  Thanks!

ENHANCED VISITATION MINISTRY AT FEAST:  Combined goals between Church Council and Stephen Ministry allow the visitation ministry at Feast of Victory to be enhanced.  Scheduled periodic drop-in visits to those who are somewhat or fully homebound have already begun.  This is not to be seen as formal Stephen Ministry confidential one-on-one relationships but simply periodic visits to keep “in touch” with those who are not able to always be present at worship or participate in other ministries.  If you would like to be one of the visitors, please contact Peggy Burns.  Her phone number and email address may be found in your Feast Membership/friends directory.  If you would like to receive periodic visits, please also contact Peggy.

NEXT SUNDAY’S SCRIPTURAL TEXTS:  The readings for Sunday, March 7th are Isaiah 55:1-9, 1 Corinthians 10:1-13, and Luke 13:1-9.

MASTER CALENDAR: A Master Calendar is located in the Secretary's office on the cabinet by the back wall.  When meetings, classes, or activities are planned, please place on Master Calendar...event, date, time, and room within building that will be utilized.  Why?  More ministry...more days and evenings utilized!  It's a good (God) thing!
